MARION COUNTY COMMISSIONER
VOTE
Christopher Wolfe
My name is Christopher Wolfe and I am running for Marion County Commissioner from the West Augusta District.
WHY I AM UNIQUELY QUALIFIED
- I am a good listener.
- I can observe and evaluate complex situations and anticipate any unintended consequences.
- After a thorough evaluation of the situation, I can develop a plan, develop a budget for implementation of the plan and carry out the initiative through completion.
- I have the knowledge, experience, and ability to help the County Commission move this county FORWARD and provide for a better future for all Marion Countians.
I grew up in Eastern Kentucky, earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from the University of Kentucky in 1976. I then moved to North Central West Virginia 46 years ago to work for Bethlehem Mines Corporation and I have been a Marion County Residence by CHOICE for the last 43 years. In 1993, I received my master’s in business administration (MBA) from West Virginia Wesleyan College.
I began working for Bethlehem Mines Corporation in 1976. During my career with them I progressed thru various engineering and management positions including Mine Superintendent and Mine Manager. I finished my career with Bethlehem Mines Corporation in 1991 as a Mine Manager. I along with a business partner started Wolfe & Associates, 1991. Wolfe & Associates, Inc. has been in Farmington, WV since its inception.
I have been the Marion County Surveyor since 2012 and was elected to my third term in 2020. I have been actively working on the Marion County redistricting process with the Marion County Clerk’s office and the Marion County GIS coordinator. While Wolfe & Associates, Inc. was known locally for its Land Surveying expertise, Wolfe & Associates is also a multifaceted engineering design and management consultant firm.
I have been married to Wendy Tetrick Wolfe for twenty-four years. Wendy is a dedicated educator who has taught the children of Marion County for thirty-one years. The first nine years were at Saint Peter and Paul Catholic School in Monongah, and the remaining years have been in the Marion County Public School System.

MY INITIATIVES
Many politicians and businesspersons say, “We need to run the government like a business.” That is not entirely correct or possible. A business’ sole purpose is to make a profit while a county’s sole purpose is to provide its citizens with the necessary services. While a government entity cannot be run strictly like a business, that entity can institute best management practices (BMP) to operate in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO TOGETHER
Listen, Listen, Listen – Don’t waste valuable time on problems that aren’t really there.
Use my project evaluation expertise to identify areas of possible future economic development initiatives.
Constituent services initiatives such as extended Public Service District services.
